Quira PDF is built privacy-first. Your documents are yours — they live on your device, and we never see them. We have no servers of our own, no accounts, no analytics, no tracking, and no advertising.
PDFs you open, scan, import, or create are stored locally in the app's own storage on your device, and are visible to you in Files (iPhone/iPad) or Finder (Mac). If a future version syncs across your devices, it does so through your personal iCloud account using Apple iCloud Drive — your files pass only through Apple's infrastructure under Apple's Privacy Policy, and are never sent to us or any third party we control.
The document scanner uses your camera only while you are scanning. Captured pages are processed on your device and saved into your library. Camera images are never uploaded anywhere.
Quira PDF includes an optional AI assistant. It is off unless you choose to use it and provide your own API key. When you ask the assistant about a document, the relevant text of that document and your question are sent to Anthropic (the AI provider) to generate a response, governed by Anthropic's Privacy Policy. This happens only when you actively send a message to the assistant. Your API key is stored solely in your device's Keychain and is never transmitted to us. We do not operate a server that sees your key or your documents.
Quira PDF is free. If paid features are offered in a future update, purchases are handled entirely by Apple through the App Store; we never receive your payment details.
Quira PDF is not directed to children and collects no personal information from anyone.
